Patricia Ann Tuggle Evans, lovingly known as Pat, Mom, Momma, Grandmama Pat, and Patrick, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, at Summit Medical Center at the age of 81. She was born on January 8, 1945, in Lebanon, Tennessee.
Pat was the kind of person who made people feel safe simply by being near her. As a registered nurse, she dedicated her life to caring for others, offering comfort during difficult moments and healing through both her skill and gentle spirit. Nursing was never just a profession to her. It was a calling. She cared deeply for every patient and every family she encountered, always giving of herself with compassion and grace.
Beyond her work, Pat’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife who stood faithfully beside her husband, William Kenneth Evans “Bill,” through life’s many seasons. She was a mother who gave unconditional love, guidance, and strength. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were treasures in her heart, and nothing brought her more happiness than hearing their laughter, sharing stories, and watching her family grow.
Those who shared in her life and love include her husband, William Kenneth Evans “Bill”; her children, William Kenneth Evans Jr. “Kenny,” Renda Evans Johnson (Jeff), and Kim Evans Burlingame (Richie Sullivan); her grandchildren, Jennifer Wren Sims (Jay), J. Michael Johnson, Mark Patrick O’Connell, Elizabeth McKenzie O’Connell (Joshua Reish), Kenneth Brett Evans (Katie), Eric Michael Evans (Taylor), Johnathan Evan Burlingame (Addie Markam), and Preston Dean Sullivan; and her great-grandchildren, Thomas Hudson Sims, Lilian Walker Sims, Kimberly Addison Evans, Kennedy Jane Evans, Saylor Paige Burlingame, and Joshua Jay Reish.
She was the daughter of Robert Tuggle and Mary Elizabeth McGowan (Jack) and the granddaughter of Effie Scudder and carried with her throughout life the values of compassion, strength, and faith that shaped who she became.
Pat was a lifelong resident of Lebanon, Tennessee. She graduated from Lebanon High School and later earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She worked for many years as a registered nurse at Lebanon Women’s Clinic alongside Dr. Pickett and was a faithful member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Pat’s life on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Woodlawn Memorial Park. 660 Thompson Lane. Nashville, Tennessee 37204.
