Richard “RJ” Keller, 87, passed away on April 15th, 2021 at his home in Hermitage, Tennessee. “RJ” was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 13th, 1934, to John W. Keller and Bernice Keller. After graduating from Hazel Park High School in 1952, to support his family, he began his business career. In 1954, he met and married Elizabeth Ann Vincent from Jacksboro, Tennessee at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan.
After marriage, he joined the National Life Insurance Company and seven years and a promotion later, the family moved to the headquarters located in Nashville, Tennessee. After working forty-five years in the life insurance industry, he retired to be with his loving wife and family. In retirement, RJ spent many hours playing golf with his friends and family.
Those who knew RJ best, know that his pride and joy were not in achievements but in his family. He will be missed by his beloved wife of 67 years, his three children: Cheryl Lynn Brown (Robert W. Brown), Karen Sue Farmer (Roger Farmer), Richard Dan Keller (Dawn Keller). RJ or better known as “Gramps” was especially devoted to his six grandchildren: Amy Elizabeth DeFord, Bradley Scott Farmer, Adam Wayne Brown, Richard Zachary Keller, Rachel Danielle Keller, and Joshua Warren Keller and three great grandchildren.
Richard “RJ” Keller leaves a rich legacy as a faithful follower of Christ and setting the foundation for his family and generations after. He will be remembered for his constant smile, humor, caring spirit, helpful hands, his love for life, and of course, golf.
