She was born in Nashville on September 27, 1949, and graduated from John Overton High School. Rita worked for many years at National Life Insurance Company and was known for her love of animals and kind heart.
Rita is survived by her sister, Ann Clark; nieces, Autumn Brown, Donna Skelley, and Denise Jones; nephews, Joe Brown III, Joshua Clark, Steve Skelley, and Rob Gray; and many great-nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She will be remembered for her warmth, gentle spirit, and love for family and animals.
A graveside service for Rita will be held Friday, August 1, 2025 at 10:00am at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Woodlawn Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204.
