

Robert Wayne Henderson II of Nashville, Tennessee, known as Bob to friends and family, passed away on February 14, 2026, at the age of 68. Born June 18th 1957 in Nashville, he was a lifelong resident of the city he loved.
Bob graduated from Belmont University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Management. That same year, he completed Aviation Officer Candidate School with the United States Navy and went on to complete Inter-service Undergraduate Navigation School in 1988, proudly serving as a Lieutenant Commander. He also served with the Tennessee Air National Guard and was awarded the U.S. Air Medal in 1994 for his service during the Bosnian UNHCR mission.
Bob dedicated his career to innovation, working in Integrated Marketing Consulting, Web Design, Graphic Design, and immersive media production. He combined his love for history and technology to create immersive experiences and preserve Nashville’s rich heritage. He was actively involved as a member of the Belmont University Alumni Board of Directors, served as member of the Nashville Metropolitan Historical Commission, and was a former president of the Battle of Nashville Trust. His devotion to community extended to environmental preservation, maintaining Nashville’s greenspaces for future generations.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Carol Henderson, and his brother, Britt Henderson. He is survived by his sons, Eric Henderson (Robyn) and Ryan Henderson (Karolina); his sister, Carol Hewitt (Dan), and her son, Blake Anderson; and his brother, Blake Henderson (Deanna).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bob’s honor to the Nashville Historical Foundation.
