

Mr. Robert B. Noble, age 97, of Donelson, Tennessee, was born April 29, 1918, and passed away on September 3, 2015. Mr. Noble was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 63 years, Martha Jean Noble, who was a graduate of Ward Belmont and Peabody College.
Mr. Noble is survived by his two daughters, Jacque (Mike) Nave and Barbara (Howard) Barrett; one grandson, Chris (Alison) Lyon; four granddaughters, Lenneke (Jared) Driskill, Meghan Barrett, Maggie Nave and Molly Barrett; five great grandchildren, Annabelle, Olivia, August and Hawkins Driskill and Mason Lyon, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Noble was born and raised in Beallsville, Pennsylvania. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Waynesburg University, Pennsylvania, in 1939 with top honors in Physics and Mathematics. Mr. Noble then took post graduate studies at UCLA from which he received his Master’s Degree in Meteorology.
During World War II, Mr. Noble served as a Captain in the Air Corps and received several medals for his service. After discharge from the Service, he rejoined American Airlines and held a number of management positions with American throughout the United States. He retired from American at Nashville as Regional Director of Marketing.
While with American at Nashville, Mr. Noble was a member of the Rotary Club, Sales and Marketing Executives, Chamber of Commerce, Country Music Association, City Salesman Club and the Nashville City Club.
He was a member of Donelson Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder Deacon and Sunday School Teacher.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday from twelve thirty in the afternoon until two o’clock in the afternoon.
A graveside service will follow the visitation at two o’clock in the afternoon at Woodlawn Memorial Park where Mr. Noble will be interred with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Murfreesboro Fisher House.
