Robert James Travers, age 72 went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 19, 2014 in Nashville. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert William Travers and Velma Eileen Larkins Travers; survived by loving wife Beverly Jeanne Hammer Travers; son, David James Travers; daughter, Lisa Rose Travers; sister, Joyce Mary (Steve) Zibreg; two nephews, Rob and Jim Zibreg and many cousins. Jim spent his early childhood on a ranch in Wyoming where his father was foreman (a real cowboy) and his mother was the chief cook. Jim loved to fish and enjoyed riding horses. He played trumpet in the Worland Wyoming High School Band. Jim served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1968. He worked ten years for Safeway and 40 years for Kroger. Celebration of Life Service will be on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at two o’clock in the afternoon with Dr. Gene Mims officiating at Judson Baptist Church, 4900 Franklin Pike, Nashville, TN 37220.
