Steve, I don't know where to begin.  I just learned of Sarah's death this morning.  I have no words to express my sorrow.  You and Sarah are Aaron's and Amie's Godparents.  I'm so sorry we didn't stay in better contact over the years.  You and the children are in my prayers.

I got to know Sarah through her work at Harris Teeter.  I always looked forward to seeing her each week when I shopped.  We always chatted.  She was always so warm and friendly; brightening my day. 

 I had missed seeing her since Thanksgiving and when I asked today (1/15/15) where she was, I was shocked, stunned and saddened to hear of her passing.  When the checker told me of her passing,  we both had tears in our eyes.

Although I only knew her through our weekly Harris Teeter interaction, I counted  her my friend and I now feel a genuine sense of loss.

My prayers and thoughts go out to her family.  She will be missed, l am sure, by many besides myself

I met Sarah a few years ago via an Internship Program where I was the Instructor.  Sarah confided in me regarding many personal matters.  Mainly her love for her family.  She took much pride in her children.  During breaks, she would begin to tell of different accomplishments of the children.  Wow! How she would glow when she spoke of the children. As time passed, she would say, I am doing "this" for my kids.  No matter how hard the work- she would say, "I've got to do this for my kids."  Rest Sarah.  Lay down all your heavy burdens. I love this picture of Sarah.  It reminds me so much of her nature and sweet smile.  Sarah was the first friend I had when we moved here twenty five years ago.  We spent a lot of time together when our boys were little. Things I will always remember about her were her fierce love for her children, her ability to never judge others, her strong spirituality, and the way she was completely self-sacrificing.  Although Sarah was very pretty on the outside, it was her soul that was truly beautiful.

My sincerest condolances to you and your children, and to the rest of the Hooker family.  I went to CKS with Sarah for 8 years and so remember how kind, gentle, and sweet Sarah was. So many wonderful memories washed through my mind when I heard of the news. She was always reading...loved her books, could fly right through them. She was very athletic and picked me to be her partner for the 3 legged race one year for field day. I was in no way athletic, but she was so patient and helpful and we ended up winning first place. This was my one and only blue ribbon of my elementary school days.  Thanks Sarah. I also remember her having her picture in the paper when she turned 13 on Friday the 13th, and the entire class thought that was so cool! I wish your family peace in the days ahead, but know that to think of Sarah can only bring a smile to your face and warmth in your heart.
