

SFIKAS, Stella Chris Theodore born October 18, 1930 in Wheeling, West Virginia and predeceased by her beloved husband, Reverend Father John Simon Sfikas and brother, George Theodore (Baden, P A). She was the daughter of Greek immigrant parents, Nick and Helen Theodorakis from the island of Crete. As the wife of a Priest, she carried the title of "Presbytera" Stella and is survived by her daughters, Helen Sfikas Rogers (Larry Kamm) and Stephanie Sfikas Davis (Mark Davis) both of Nashville, Tennessee and her grandchildren, Irena Kamm Bozdogan (David), Sara Rogers Spanos (George) and Stella V. Kamm, Jonathan S. Aivazis (Sarah) and Nicholas T. Davis. Also survived by her loving sibings, Michael Theodore (Nancy) of Homosassa, FL, Angelo Theodore (Kay) of Ormond Beach, FL, sister-in-law, Chris Theodore of Baden, PA and many beloved nieces and nephews. Presbytera Stella was a 1948 graduate of Ambridge High School in Ambridge, P A and was married to Father John Sfikas for 43 years. She worked to help support the family as an office manager at Block Brothers and for the Metropolitan Nashville Clerk's Office under Ruth Judd and Marilyn Swing. In her retirement years, she worked for the Fire Department Credit Union. Presbytera Stella was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Parish here in Nashville since 1961 when Father John began to serve that Parish. She was very active in the Greek Ladies Philoptochos Society at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church where she served as the President of the Metropolis of Detroit Greek Ladies Philoptochos Society from 1994 to 1996, and was the Director of the Sunday school program for 20 years. She was an amazing mother and grandmother, friend to all, devoted wife and a wonderful cook. May her memory be eternal. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 5-7 pm with the Trisagion service held at 6 pm at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4905 Franklin Pike Nashville, TN 37220 . Pallbearers will be, Jim Kalmukos, Stamos Sfikas, Scott Davis, George Plaster, Chris Coutras, Gus Bellos, Joseph Duncan, Jr., Andy Theodore, James Gaddis and Jason Theodore. Graveside service will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Presbytera Stella's memory to the Holy Trinity Iconography Fund.
