

FERRIS, Stephen George – Age 89 of Nashville, passed away June 24, 2010 at Centennial Hospital. He was born January 15, 1921 in Troy, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Ferris and Margaret Naomi Gusen Ferris;sisters, Alice Adams (Eugene), Amenia Ann O’Donnel (David), Josephine A. Welch (James Patrick); brother, George Gene, Albert J. and Phillip Joseph. He is survived by nieces, Suzy Zouky and Naomi St. Onge of Wynantskill, NY, Georgia Russell of Troy, NY, Marion Guariglia of Coral Springs, Fl and Alice Ann Baker of Dansfort, NY; nephews, James Welch of Fredericksburg, VA, David O’Donnell of Cropseyville, NY, Albert Ferris and Stephen Ferris of Troy, NY, and special companion, Kitty Winkle. Stephen Ferris served his country during World War II as an Army Private in the Pacific theater. Upon his return he settled in Nashville and was employed as an interior decorator with L. Maxwell Smith Interiors. In 1964 he founded Steve Ferris Interiors located on West End Avenue which he operated until 1978. He continued to work as a consultant for several years from his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am on Monday, June 28, 2010 in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with Tim Alexander officiating. Family and friends will gather to remember Mr. Ferris from 1-6pm on Sunday afternoon at WOODLAWN-ROESCH-PATTON FUNERAL HOME.
