I appeared as an attorney many times before Judge McKnight and I was always glad to see her. We shared a teaching and law background and she always had kind words for people in the court setting and was genuinely interested in the cases before her. And she had a good common sense approach to the cases before her. I had a case in her court the last day she was on the bench in General Sessions but lost track of her after that. I am very sorry to hear of her passing. Nashville has lost a fine teacher, lawyer, Judge and friend to many.

Sue touched so many lives with her love of history and inspired those she taught. She was a true West High Blue Jay in the class of 1951. Her courage to attend law school at such a late age showed her love of continued learning. Our family was so blessed that she touched our lives. Whenever you see a Blue Jay, think of Sue.

When I married her nephew she welcomed me with open arms into the family. I was inspired that she completed her law degree latter in life and was encouraged to not give up finishing my own bachelors degree. She was such a strong personality, fun loving and always had a great story to tell. Truly a mentor and leader. We will miss her sweet happy fierce love. ❤️❤️❤️
