Thomas Lynn “Tommy” Dixon, age 77, passed away peacefully at his home on February 9, 2026. Born on May 26, 1948, in Nashville, Tennessee, Tommy lived a life marked by service, dedication, and a deep love for his family. He graduated from John Overton High School before beginning the next chapter of his life in service to his country.
Tommy was born to Billy and Gloria Dixon and proudly served his country in the United States Navy, an experience that shaped his strong sense of duty and work ethic. Following his military service, he spent his career in the automotive industry before purchasing Sidco Auto Parts with his brother, Gary Dixon. Through years of hard work, Tommy built not just a successful business, but lasting relationships, earning respect for his honesty, reliability, and willingness to help others.
Family was at the center of everything Tommy did. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Joan Dixon, who preceded him in death and whom he missed deeply. He is survived by his son Ben Dixon and daughter-in-law Allison Dixon, and his cherished grandchildren Noah, Parker, and Brooklyn Dixon, who brought him immense pride and joy.
Tommy is also survived by his brother Gary Dixon and his mother-in-law Lucy Reed. He will be remembered for his steady presence, quiet strength, and the way he showed his love through action rather than words. Those who knew him best will remember a man who worked hard, loved deeply, and remained devoted to the people who mattered most.
Visitation will be held on February 17, 2026, from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, followed by a service at 2:30 PM, at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, located at 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN 37204.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Nashville Humane Association or to the American Cancer Society – Hope Lodge Nashville, both of which were very near and dear to Tommy’s heart.
Tommy’s legacy lives on through his family, his service, and the many lives he touched throughout his life.
