

Born in Richmond, Virginia in l922. He was preceded by parents Elmer C. and Lucelia Williams Graves; brother William J. Graves, sister-in-law Dorothy Graves, and sister-in-law Dolores Graves. He is survived by wife Neva Norton Graves; daughters Susan Lynn Jordan (David), Linda Graves, Celia Taylor (Harold); sons Daniel L. Graves (Ilene), Michael Norton Graves (Deborah); grandchildren Sarah Taylor Shanaman (Dan) and Brandon Taylor; great-granddaughter Lyla Jewel Shanaman; and brother Robert L. Graves.
Tom, a WWII B-25 pilot, remained active in several veteran groups. His careers included Graves Printing & Advertising, draftsman for Graves Engineering, rep. for Blue Cross/Blue Shield and American Hospital Assoc., and owner of many rental properties. Longtime member of Belmont United Methodist Church, a member of their Administrative Board, and of Jessie Rustin SS class. Later, associate member of Brentwood United Methodist Church and Faith Inquiry Class, Boy Scout Leader, member Hillsboro/Harding Exchange Club and District Governor Toastmasters International. He leaves his family a legacy of love, faithfulness, creativity and sense of adventure.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Belmont UMC on Saturday, June 7 at ten thirty, with visitation starting one hour prior to service and visitation following the service. Officiating will be Rev. Ken Edwards, Rev. Linda Johnson and Dr. Joe E. Pennel, Jr. Memorials may be made to Belmont UMC, Brentwood UMC, or Guardian Hospice.
