Velda Jennings Adwell, age 97, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021. Mrs. Adwell was born in Nashville, Tennessee Wednesday, June 13, 1923 and is preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Lillian Jennings; husband, Charles Adwell; son, Robert Adwell.
A home maker and charter member of Donelson Heights United Methodist Church, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing bridge and especially her extended family.
During her long life she frequently acted as second mom to nieces and nephews as well as others outside the immediate family who valued her wisdom, her love of life and her quick wit.
She is survived by her son, Charles Edward Adwell, daughter, Beth (Jay) Allen; grandson, Christopher Allen; sister, Sara Pool and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be conducted 12:00 Monday, January 25, 2021 at graveside in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Rev. Tom Halliburton officiating.
