JAKES, Walter A. age 96 of Nashville November 22, 2011.Preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Ruth Jakes; parents, John M. and Dovie M. Jakes. Survived by children, Walter A. (Terry) Jakes, Jr., Lyn (Linda) Jakes, Ruth Ann (Ray) Baumgartner; grandchildren, Danny Jakes, John David Jakes, Charlie Jakes, Matthew Jakes, Jeff Baumgartner, Chris Baumgartner and Renee’ Howard; great grandchildren, Jared and Kaitlyn Howard; sister, Kathryn Stamps; brothers, Leonard (Dorothy) Jakes, Ellis Jakes. Mr. Jakes had been a member of Belmont Heights Baptist Church since 1938. He was co-owner of Jakes Bros. Country Meats and a W.W. II Veteran of both the Air Force and Army. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November, 26, 2011 in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with Pastor Rick Elsey officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
