Max was preceded in death by his parents, Walter William Ragsdale, a Captain in the US Air Force in WWII, and Annie Ruth Ragsdale, of Chiefland, Florida.
He is survived by his partner in love, Vickie Jones, son Christopher Ragsdale, daughters Ashley Santos, Heather Ragsdale and Haley Ragsdale, and 2 grandchildren he held dear to his heart, “Princess” Vivian and “Captain” Jack.
Max was known by all for his work ethic, love of all things golf and aviation, and his tenacity for reading. He worked multiple jobs as a high school student at Central High in Nashville, TN, and while pursuing his education at MTSU from which he graduated with honors. Before enlisting in the Marines, Max received his commercial pilot and instruction license. He loved to tell stories about experiences he had at Parris Island, his Marine buddies, his days while at NES for 38 years, his 20 years at Memorial hospital, and perfecting Ben Hogan’s 5 lessons of golf. He volunteered with the PGA for several years traveling the world to the Ryder Cup, Pebble Beach, and The Masters. Above all, he was passionate about his relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
