Whitfield, William "Ray" passed away at his home on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at the age of 78. He was the son of the late Lester Whitfield and Mildred Tubbs. Preceded in death by the love of his life, Bonnie and adored step-son, David Dunham. Ray is Lovingly Remembered by sister, Sandra (Alan) Birdsong; step-daughter, Elaine (Chuck) Said; step-son, Dr. Michael Dunham; niece, Kristen (Chad) Bennett; adored great-nieces, Darby and Brinkly Bennett; nephew, Josh Birdsong; and a few cousins. Ray retired from Metro Water Works after 36 years of service. He enjoyed traveling, good movies, good food, music, and loved Tennessee Football. He thoroughly enjoyed his Cracker Barrel breakfast and all of his waitress friends too. His sister often called him the Cracker Barrel Casanova and he loved it. He treasured all of his family and special friends including Barbara & Leonard Liddle. He will be greatly missed. Celebration of Life will be held at one o'clock on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior.
