He was very fond of his grandchildren and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for them. Clayton worked at Anishinaabe Pimadiziwin. He was a support worker, a job he was very compassionate about.
Clayton was an avid Montreal Canadiens and Kansas City Chiefs fan, he was excited when he travelled to watch both of his teams play. He was also a big fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and Winnipeg Jets. Clayton enjoyed many sports; volleyball, golf, football, baseball and hockey, playing when he was younger. He loved to fish and be out on the lake with his buddies. Another favourite pastime of his was going to the casino and he sure loved his Tim Horton’s coffee.
Clayton’s greatest passion was his grass dance and singing with his Hanisha Drum Group. He shared about the spiritual uplifting he felt as he danced and enter the arbour. He met so many people on the pow wow trail, many he considered part of his pow wow family. He often talked about when he was younger, his dad would drive him to pow wow all over, and how they would drive all night, to make it home…Clayton continued this, he would head home after pow wow, no matter where he was. Then he would post on his Facebook page, “Home Sweet Home”.
Pow wow was your life, my dear. You served your purpose and you left a lasting legacy, you will be remembered. We all love you and we will miss you. You will always be our champion Grass Dancer. As you take your journey to your final destination, we know you will continue to dance and sing in your new “Home Sweet Home”. Minoh kigah wabimigoo, we will see you again.
