On March 9, 2014, Doug Mann passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Health Sciences Centre following a brief illness.
He is survived by his mother, Viola; wife, Noreen; sons, Michael (Penni) and Bradley (Karen); grandchildren, Amelia, Joshua and Evan; sister, Beverly; brothers, Ron (Janice) and George (Karen); step-children, Ron, James (Sonja), Jody (Ginette) and Lorelei; numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and their families.
Doug was raised in Winnipeg and attended Elmwood High School. He started his 37 year career with CP Rail as a Machinist Apprentice at the Weston Shops. His career took him to Moose Jaw and later Brandon where he raised his sons and retired as a Mechanical Supervisor.
In his retirement, Doug was a member of Heather Game & Fish and enjoyed spending the summers at his place at the lake in Lac du Bonnet. In 2010, Doug moved to Beausejour with Noreen where they enjoyed living the country life and spending time with family.
The family would like to sincerely thank the nursing staff and doctors at the HSC High Observation Unit for their compassion and care.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 10:00 am at Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway #1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, MB.
