It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother-in-law and uncle Edgar Leost.
Edgar passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving daughters on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at Grace Hospital. He will be greatly missed by his daughters Claudette, Michelle, Nicole (Brent); grandchildren Karen, Evan (Kasia), Lance (Makaela), Jayda, Noah, Paige, great-grandchildren Ethan, Nyah, Lucas, Riel; great-great-grandson Kaiden, his sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Edgar's life was dedicated to his family and faith.
Thank you to Father Dominic for offering spiritual comfort to Edgar and family, and for praying over him to help guide him to his heavenly father. A special thank you to Father Rene who continues to pray for our family. The family would also like to thank the many friends and family members who offered their prayers during this difficult time.
The family is grateful to the respiratory doctors, nurses and health care aides on the third-floor of the Grace hospital. Edgar was treated with care and compassion which the family very much appreciated.
Edgar is now reunited with his loving wife Rita, his parents, sister and brothers.
Funeral will take place in the St. Laurent Parish, St. Laurent, MB on Friday, July 31 with rosary starting at 10:30 a.m. and mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Manitoba Lung Association.
