Edmond Philippe Gagnon

Edmond laisse dans le deuil ses quatre enfants : Cécile Plante, Louise Beaudoin (Henri), Claude (Thérèse) et Yvette; ses 16 petits-enfants et 30 arrière-petits-enfants; sa sœur Marguerite Foubert; ses six frères, Louis, Laurent, Armand, Georges, Ludger et Hubert (Suzanne); ainsi que ses trois belles-sœurs, Noellia Jolicoeur, Lorraine et Louise Normandeau.

Edmond a été précédé dans la mort par son épouse Lucie (Normandeau), ses parents Mathias et Blanche (Laramée), son gendre Gilles Plante, ses trois sœurs, Eva (Jos Favreau), Rita (André Conan) et Irène (Arthur Lorteau), ses deux frères, Léo (Alice) et Donat, un beau-frère Bernard Foubert, trois belles-soeurs Esther, Lucille et Yvette Gagnon ainsi qu’une chère amie, Lilianne Lansard.

Né, élevé et marié à La Broquerie, Lucie et Edmond ont déménagé à Lorette en 1961 afin d’y élever leur famille. Papa travaillait comme camioneur pour la construction et plus tard livreur d’essence pour shell. Papa aimait travailler le bois, le jardiner, faire des casse-tête et jouer aux cartes avec sa famille et ses amis.

La messe funéraire sera célébrée par l’abbé Mario et le père Kevin à l’église catholique Notre-Dame-de-Lorette, à Lorette, le samedi 10 octobre à 11 h. L’éloge funèbre débutera à 10 h 30.

L’inhumation aura lieu au cimetière Green Acres.

La famille désire remercier le Dr Paul deMoissac d’avoir pris soin de notre père pendant de nombreuses années. Nous aimerions également remercier l’équipe des soins palliatifs de l’Hôpital Bethesda de Steinbach pour les excellents soins prodigués à notre famille.

Surrounded by his family, Edmond passed away peacefully on October 1st 2026 at the age of 92.

Edmond is survived by his four children Cécile Plante, Louise Beaudoin (Henri), Claude (Thérèse) and Yvette, 16 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren, his sister Marguerite Foubert, six brothers Louis, Laurent, Armand, Georges, Ludger and Hubert (Suzanne), three sisters-in-law Noellia Jolicoeur, Lorraine and Louise Normandeau.

Edmond was predeceased by his wife Lucie (Normandeau), his parents Mathias and Blanche (Laramée), his son-in-law Gilles Plante, three sisters Eva (Jos Favreau), Rita (André Conan), Irène (Arthur Lorteau), two brothers Léo (Alice), Donat, one brother-in-law Bernard Foubert, three sisters-in-law Esther, Lucille and Yvette Gagnon, as well as a special friend Lilianne Lansard.

Born, raised and married in La Broquerie, Lucie and Edmond moved to Lorette in 1961 to raise their family. Dad worked as a truck driver for a construction company and later as a fuel delivery driver for Shell. Dad enjoyed woodworking, gardening, puzzles and playing cards with family and friends.

Funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Mario and Father Kevin at the Notre-Dame-de-Lorette Roman Catholic Church in Lorette on Saturday October 10th at 11:00am. Eulogy to begin at 10:30.

Interment will take place at Green Acres Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Paul deMoissac for taking care of our father for many years. We would also like to thank the Palliative Care team at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach for providing such excellent care for our family.
