Elaine Patricia Turner

Elaine Turner (née McGovern), born October 9, 1935 in Montréal, Quebec, passed away peacefully at home in Winnipeg, Manitoba, July 7, 2016.

For 23 years, Elaine was the beloved wife of Coulter Turner. Elaine will be deeply missed by her three children; Colleen Shier, Peter (Kelly) Garagan, Kelly (Mark) Anderson; her step children, Leigh (Erica) and Colleen Turner. Elaine will also be missed by her grandchildren; Kendra and Kiera Garagan, Matthew and Jake Anderson, Kevin, Jack and Katie Shier, Lily Turner, Madeleine and Macallum Harvey.

Elaine was predeceased by her parents Vera, Rowland and her stepfather Alex.

Elaine was a devoted mother and grandmother, and even across the miles, her love was always felt deeply by her family. Elaine met her cherished husband, partner and best friend Coulter, later in life. They were immediately inseparable and have enjoyed many years of watching their families grow, traveling the world together, and creating fond memories with friends.

Elaine enjoyed a long career in the health sciences field, holding positions across Canada in the various locations she lived, retiring from her final role at the Health Sciences Centre in 1996.

A celebration of Elaine’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 2:00pm at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery, Hwy #1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
