Forever In Our Hearts
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing Georgina Kelly (McLachlan) on January 3, 2021 at the age of 82.
She will be lovingly missed by her husband of 45 years Alexander Kelly, children, Sharon Kelly, Doug Kelly (Diane), Debbie Kelly (Mark), Don Kelly (Bonnie), grandchildren Tyler Kelly, Jason Leishman, Cory Leishman, Ryan Kelly, Justin Kelly, Jaimie Kelly, great grandchildren, Connor, Sophie, Jacob and Thomas.
Mom was born and raised in Winnipeg and after losing her parents at a young age, was raised by her Uncle Allie and Aunt Evelyn. She enjoyed her summers at their cabin just past Beausejour where she could be found swimming and floating in the Brokenhead river.
Mom taught most of her career at Mulvey School maintaining relationships with teachers and former students for many years after retirement.
In 1981 Mom and Dad purchased a cabin outside of Lac Du Bonnet where they spent 40 years with family and friends making memories.
She was an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles, playing cards and dice games with the family around the kitchen table at the cabin.
Mom and Dad loved their winters in Arizona, taking a few cruises and travelling to various destinations.
Over the years they have gone on many fishing trips in Manitoba hoping to return home with a haul of pickerel or goldeye.
Some of Mom’s favorite pass times were shopping, bingo, yard sales and the “occasional” visit to the casino.
Mom’s love of dancing was shared by Dad, whether it was in a dance hall or in the kitchen.
Two of Mom’s favorite seasons were Jets season and Bomber season, rarely missing the chance to watch a game.
Besides her lifelong childhood friends, Bev, Annette and Jean, Mom, along with Dad, cherished many great friendships over the years.
She will be sadly missed.
The family would like to acknowledge how wonderful the staff at the Victoria Hospital took care of Mom during these trying times.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and Parkinson Society

On our way down South some 10 years ago , I was taking a Nap while Georgina was driving and when I awoke we were driving East instead of South and prompted the immediate purchase of a device to guide you while driving and helping to keep husbands from going banana's on motor trips. No unkind words were spoken and we still danced and loved each other.
