Gilbert Roger Vinet

Gilbert was born on May 6, 1946, to Frank and Jeanne Vinet in St. Pierre, MB. He grew up in St. Pierre, MB, spending time on the family farm. Later in life, Gilbert moved to Winnipeg, MB, where he was employed by Safeway for over 30 years until his retirement. Gilbert had a love for photography and enjoyed spending his time at Festival du Voyageur each year, taking pictures of snow sculptures and interesting exhibits.

Gilbert is survived by his brother Ron (Marie), sister Patricia (Adrien), nieces Joanne (Rene and Justine), Carolyn (Hekthor) Katie (Tim, Claire and Rebekah) and Sarah-Anne (Emerson), nephews Joel (Kirsten, Max, and Caleb), Robert (Violet) and Marc, sisters-in-law Diane and Margaret, extended family members, and many friends.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Jeanne (nee Joubert), brothers Raymond and Paul, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A special thank you to the team at Concordia Hospital for the care they provided Gilbert in his final days.

A memorial service will be held on April 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Pierre Roman Catholic Church in St. Pierre, MB. In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations be made to CNIB Foundation in Gilbert's name.

Gilbert will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by those who knew him.
