It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jennifer Reimer on Friday, November 14, 2025 at the age of 54.
Jennifer is survived by her husband of 31 years and love of her life, Todd, as well as her parents, Abe and Nora Giesbrecht, sister Cindy (John), her nieces Tara, Jessica (Aaron) and her great niece Charli.
She also leaves behind her cherished companions, Gideon and Prima, and is predeceased by her treasured cats Steve, Lucy, Buttons and Gus.
Jennifer was born on September 15, 1971 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She attended Riverview School for kindergarten; then when the family moved to Charleswood she completed the rest of her schooling and graduated from Grade 12 at Shaftesbury High School. Jennifer attended Providence College in 1990.
Wherever Jen went she brought light, and left an indelible lasting impression on everyone she met. Jen was fun, feisty, and loved to laugh – especially at any serious moments. Jennifer cared deeply about all her friends and family; she took a genuine interest in all her friends’ children and was an auntie to so many.
Jennifer cared deeply about animals, especially cats. If she was late to a function, you could bet it was because her cats needed petting just one more time - and just one more treat.
She loved playing tennis and golf, and especially enjoyed her golf league with her girls. Her love for sports of all kinds, was matched only by her devotion to her beloved Winnipeg Jets and Green Bay Packers. Jen appreciated both hard metal music, like Metallica, as well as going to the symphony.
Jen relished the opportunity to travel – a passion that began in childhood with many family camping trips across the United States and Canada. In later years, there were family trips to Hawaii, Florida, San Diego, and her favourite, Palm Springs. Jennifer and Todd travelled to South Africa, Croatia, Switzerland, London, Paris and Italy. Which gave her the perfect opportunity to engage in one of her other favourite past times – savouring delicious food! And, of course, travel also gave her an opportunity to explore her love of photography.
While Jennifer tried her hand at many jobs, from working in Banff as a hotel housekeeper to working for Tourism Winnipeg, it wasn’t until she landed her job at Fast Air that she found her true passion. Over the 22 years Jen worked there, she grew a deep love for not only aviation, but for the people she worked with. Her passion could be seen in her frequent visits to aviation museums on her travels and the many photos sent to the family chat of a plane in the hanger with the morning sunrise behind it. She loved sky gazing and plane spotting, and sharing the details of the plane with whoever she was with.
Faith was a huge part of Jennifer’s life. She accepted Jesus into her life at a young age and was baptized as a young teen. She shared her faith with many in her final days. She walked with Christ through this final part of her life, and the holy spirit gave her the strength to face the death with certainty. Jen wanted everyone to know that she loved them, and to have the same belief that one day we will be united with her, and with Christ, in eternity.
Celebration of Jennifer's Life will be held on Saturday November 22nd at 1:00 pm at Grant Memorial Church 877 Wilkes Avenue.
