John was born on March 21, 1924 in the Shell Valley area of Manitoba, and was schooled at Shell Valley School and later moved to Winnipeg and studied at Red River College.
He worked for Burns Meats, beginning as a Shipper, then went on to be a Buyer, and a Salesman. He worked there for 46 years retiring in 1988.
John was predeceased by his wife Anna in 1995.
Left to mourn his passing is his son Todd, daughter Faye (Wayne) Rubbelke, granddaughter Jodi (Adam), and grandson John, all from the Dallas, Texas area.
