Kathleen Dorothy Moulden
June 28, 1934 – October 20, 2023
It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Kathleen Dorothy Moulden (nee Keep), beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, on October 20, 2023 at the age of 89, surrounded by her family.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children Kathleen of Carman, MB, Christine of Winnipeg, Kenneth (Irene) of Falcon Lake, MB, Dwight (Melody) of St. Adolphe, MB, and Ronald (Cindy) of Winnipeg, as well as 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Kathy was predeceased by her husband Harold (Hal) and siblings David, Walter, Francis, Mildred, and Jacquelynn.
Kathy (affectionately known as Kay) was married to Hal in 1954. They went on to have 5 children. She was a homemaker for many years until she spread her wings and went to work as a cashier at Family Fare in Charleswood. She eventually became Head Cashier. She enjoyed her job and loved her independence.
In her thirties she took up piano/organ lessons and bought her first organ. She loved the music, played, and introduced it to her grandchildren.
After her husband’s passing in 1995, Kathy joined a golf league and a bowling league. She excelled and was very competitive. She was proud to claim first place in many competitions.
Kathy did many years of volunteer work through Hospice Care, Youville Centre, and loved mall walking with friends.
In early 2021, Kathy lost her sight after failed surgery. Continuing to live with her daughter, she remained fiercely strong even in the hardest times, she claimed much independence.
After being introduced to audio books, she read over 400. Learning and listening was her escape and her lifeline, and she was so grateful.
The service for Kathleen will be Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Blvd, Winnipeg, MB.
