It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved husband, father and grandfather Kenneth Dalkie, on August 19, 2026 at the Kildonan Personal Care Home.
Ken was predeceased by his father Henry, mother Augusta, brother Hal and sister Dorothy.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Joyce of 64 years, his eldest son Rob (Carla) grandchildren Danielle, Mikayla and Carson; his son Christopher and grandsons Hayden and Kieran.
Ken worked as an accountant with Man. Hydro for 37 years retiring in Nov. 1993. He met the love of his life at the Man. Power Commission in 1959, an office romance followed and they married on July 28, 1962. They bought their first lifetime home on Larchdale Cres, in 1966 and have lived there since.
He loved fishing and always went with his brother Hal - where he caught his master anglers Pickerel in 1967. A self-taught taxidermist he mounted that fish. He also loved hunting and would go every fall will all his Hydro friends for Mallard ducks and geese.
Ken was very much involved in the boys’ sports activities as they were growing up and spent many hours in the hockey rinks and soccer fields. He was also a very talented home renovator, always keeping up with the times and making sure his home and yard were his pride and joy. He was precise and made sure everything was done perfectly.
His passing leaves a deep void in our lives and we will never forget the wonderful human being that he was.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff of the 3rd floor at Kildonan Personal Care Home - they took wonderful care of him for the last 4 and a half months of his life.
There will be a private family interment.
