It is with great sadness that the family of Lorraine Louise Eva Marie Hagen announce her passing on July 15, 2021, at the age of 73.
Lorraine will be lovingly remembered by her four children, Trisha (Mike), Scott (Janine), Rae (Brett), and Chad (Reesa); her six grandchildren, Erik, Alexandra, Matthew, Shain, Avery, and Luella; her brother Denis (Alice); and her many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased in 2004 by her loving husband of 35 years, Ronald Garry Hagen; and by her sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Robert Wight.
Born to parents Eugene and Yvette St. Onge on July 21, 1947, in St. Boniface, MB, Lorraine had a warm, comforting spirit and a passionate devotion to family. Over the years, she welcomed many into her home with the same love and acceptance she offered her own family, whether it was for one of her many large family dinners, or even a temporary place to call home.
Lorraine made many close friends during her time working at the Winnipeg Tax Centre, which she retired from in January, 2017. In the years following Ron’s passing, she travelled with some of those work friends, including trips to the Canadian Maritimes, Mexico, and most important, being an Elvis fanatic, Graceland.
She took great interest in and became actively involved with the sports leagues of her children, including a number of years spent volunteering with the East Side Eagles Football club. Lorraine’s was always one of the loudest, most enthusiastic cheers to be heard from the stands.
The family wants to extend their extreme gratitude to the Palliative Care team at Riverview Health Centre for the care and kindness they provided her during the last days of her life, and for all that they do.
As per the family’s wish, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to either the Riverview Palliative Care Unit 3E, or to CancerCare Manitoba.
