Peacefully on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 our beloved sister Margaret Bélanger passed away at St. Boniface Hospital, following a brief illness, at the age 91 years. She was predeceased by her parents George and Constance Bélanger, her brothers Charles, Noel, Charlie, George, Edward and her sister Georgianna Bélanger. She is survived by her sisters Marieola Krut, Harriet Beaudry, Marie Lavallée, Merilda (DD) Bélanger, her sisters- in-law Alice, Lorraine, Mabel and numerous nieces and nephews that loved her and cared for her deeply. Margaret was born in Selkirk, MB. where she spent the majority of her youth. Her friends knew her as Pee Wee and she excelled in many sports during those years. She grew up surrounded by a close knit family and many very good friends. She moved to Winnipeg in the 1940s to begin her working career. Miss B , as she was known by her staff, was a long time employee (42 years) of SS Kresge / K-Mart where she became food manager of their in-store restaurants. Margaret's priorities revolved around faith, family and friends. We will all have lasting and fond memories of the great times shared with her. Margaret was in so many ways generous to all who came in contact with her. While she will be sadly missed we are comforted in knowing she is at peace. The family wants to express its gratitude to the medical care given by all disciplines at St. Boniface Hospital especially the nursing staff on 4E. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be directed to the St. Boniface Research Foundation as this was a favourite charity of Margaret's. Mass will be celebrated by her cousin Father Léo Couture at Holy Cross Church (252 Dubuc) in St. Boniface on Tuesday, March 27 at 11:00 a.m. Interment following at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, (East on Hwy. #1)
