Left to cherish her memory is daughter Shelley Herrick (Brad); son Clinton (Lisa); grandchildren Christopher, Olivia, and Aimie; sister Sylvia Bewski (Mike); sister-in-laws Violet and Shirley Tabinski; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
She joins in peaceful eternity her parents Florence and Peter Tabinski; sister Margaret and nephew Ryan O’Leary; brothers Larry and Mike Tabinski; and grandson, Corbie Langan.
Marilyn, born Alice Marie Tabinski in the district of Ethlebert, Manitoba was a fiercely independent person who, after graduating high school, left the family farm at age 17 to build a life in Winnipeg. She married Mark Langan in 1962 and eventually began a career as the world’s best diner waitress at the iconic Wagon Wheel Restaurant in downtown Winnipeg until health issues forced her to retire. Her family was her priority and her great love, but she also enjoyed curling, bowling, watching hockey, playing slots at the casino, and catching a Goldeyes baseball game whenever she could.
In accordance with Marilyn’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a gathering to honor her will be held on Tuesday, April 2nd at 2pm in the Heritage Room at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. #1 E. at Navin Road. Interment will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, a donation in Marilyn’s memory may be made to a charity special to you.
