Martin was, above all things, a true survivor. He possessed an unyielding, stubborn resilience and spent his entire life defying the odds. In his early twenties, Martin faced an aggressive battle with acute leukemia. Despite being told he would not make it through, Martin’s fierce stubbornness carried him to total survival—setting the stage for a lifetime of determination.
Throughout his life, Martin explored various careers, but he found his true calling and deepest fulfillment serving as a professional Security Guard. He took immense pride in his uniform because he genuinely loved protecting and helping people in his community.
Martin was a man of intense passions, but he was completely obsessed with fishing. His happiest moments were spent on the water, tracking the lines, and masterfully handling his rods and reels. His family takes immense comfort in knowing that his soul is now casting lines in the absolute biggest, most beautiful lake in heaven, having the greatest time of his life.
Martin loved hard. He made it known to everyone he met that Lise was, and always would be, the absolute love of his life. His family honors that deep, protective bond and the love that anchored their lives together.
Martin is survived by his loving wife, Lise; his beloved children, Simeon and Marinela; and his father, Frank. He is now peacefully reunited in the eternal light with his late mother, Janet, who passed before him.
A private family service and cremation layout are being handled directly through the family sanctuary. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the community for their privacy and support during this transition.
“May the waters be calm, the lines be tight, and the sky be forever clear."
Rest in peace, Martin.
