It deeply saddens us to announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather and brother on Monday, April 21, 2014.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife (Yvonne), mother (Mary), father (John), sister (Eunice) and Brother Elmer.
He will be forever missed by daughters Debbie (Wayne), Darlene (Roger) and grand-daughter Kaylynne; Sister Margaret (Victor); brother’s Norman (Maureen), Garry (Sharlene); brother-in-law Fred; sister-in-law Iris; a niece and nephews.
Dad was born on December 31, 1935 in Notikewin, Alberta. His parents later made their home in Gonor, Manitoba, then finally residing in Transcona. Dad continued to make Transcona his home until his passing. Dad married his wife, Yvonne, in 1960 and together they raised their two daughters. He was always a loving and dedicated father and grandfather. No matter how busy he was, he always made time for us. His granddaughter Kaylynne was the apple of papa’s eye. Dad missed Mom greatly after her passing and never fully recovered from her loss. After this, his health took a steady decline. He entered the work force at an early age, working hard throughout his life. He constructed basements, worked as a mechanic and did electrical work. After his brother in law Leo passed away, he took over his business (Electro-Sound Service), which was a great honor for him. Along with taking over the business, he was employed with Shell Canada as a trucker until retirement. He was always proud of the safe driving record he maintained with the company. Dad enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time at the cottage, travelling and the occasional game of golf with the guys.
Many thanks to Dr. Husarewycz for his longtime attentive service, Emergency Department staff at Concordia Hospital, Dr. Gatha and staff on 2 East.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 10:00am at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Children’s Make a Wish Foundation.
