It is with heavy hearts that the family of Richard Armstrong ("Rick") announces his peaceful passing on October 23, 2026, at the age of 76, after a courageous battle with kidney cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren in his final moments.
Born on September 7, 1950, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to John and Shiela Armstrong, Rick was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son whose kindness and devotion to family touched everyone who knew him.
On November 9, 1974, Rick married the love of his life, Elaine, and together they built a home filled with warmth, compassion, and love. Their marriage of nearly 52 years was a testament to their unwavering commitment to one another. Rick was a proud and devoted father to Chris and William, and a cherished grandfather to ten grandchildren.
Rick was known for his love of trains, fishing, and working with his hands. Whether he was in his garage tackling one of his many special projects, tending to his model train set, or enjoying a day of fishing with Elaine or one of his grandchildren, his presence left a lasting impression on everyone around him. He was a man of quiet strength, a generous spirit, and a witty sense of humor.
Rick will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Elaine; his eldest son, Chris, his wife Louise, and their children Nathanial, Gabrielle, and Jasmine; and his youngest son, William (Bill), his wife Valerie, and their children Donovan, Alexis, Shaylene (Shay), Victor, Keagan, Treyden, and Breyden.
A gathering for Rick's interment will be held on November 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1 Green Acres Lane, Navin, Manitoba, R5T 0H2.
Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
