Born in Toronto, Ontario, Suzanne moved to Manitoba at a young age, where she grew up, planted deep roots, and built a beautiful life. It was here that she met the love of her life, Glenn Antonio. The two were wed 29 years ago and moved to Lorette Manitoba, embarking on a devoted marriage filled with unconditional support, partnership, and endless shared joy.
Suzanne truly loved people and was a vibrant, indispensable thread in the fabric of the Lorette community. She gave generously of her time, working closely with local pre-school programs and channelling her immense passion for curling into the local rink, where she proudly ran the junior curling program to inspire the next generation. Professionally, Suzanne brought her warm, community-minded spirit to the Seine River School Division, where she worked for the past several years, forming lasting friendships with colleagues.
Those who knew Suzanne will forever remember her infectious sense of humour. She loved to laugh, possessed a rare grace that allowed her to laugh easily at herself, and brought lighthearted comfort into every room she entered. In her quiet time, she was an avid fan of puzzles and crosswords. When she wasn’t solving a puzzle, she was a passionate sports fan—spending her summers and falls cheering for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, backing the Winnipeg Jets and glued to the TV watching curling all winter long.
Suzanne also possessed a deep love for nature’s quiet wonders. A few years back, she took it upon herself to transform her backyard into a sanctuary by planting milkweed to support the local ecosystem. Her family remembers with great fondness the immense joy she felt watching dozens of monarch butterflies take flight from her garden, starting their miraculous journeys under her watchful, caring eye.
Many thanks to the staff at Bethesda Regional Health Centre for all of loving care that was provided to Suzanne.
Suzanne was predeceased by her beloved mother, Ruth Pearson and father-in-law Wesley Antonio.
Her legacy of laughter, warmth, and selflessness will live on through her family. She is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her husband, Glenn Antonio; her father, Douglas Pearson; her sister, Christine Pearson (Neal). Mother-in-law Helen Antonio, sister-in-laws Angie Antonio (Phil), Kathy Maxwell (Maxx) and brother-in-law Garry Antonio (Michele). She leaves behind a lifetime of proud memories with her two cherished sons, Eric (and his fiancée, Sarah Vandale) and Mark (and his girlfriend, Selena Toledo) alongside a wide circle of extended family, dear friends, and neighbours whose lives she fundamentally brightened.
