Obituary of Alexander William Corrie
Alexander “Alex” William Corrie, 32, passed away at Jewish Hospital on the morning of November 4th, 2019. Alex was born April 9, 1987 in Cambridge, Ohio. He was the son to William and Charmaine Corrie of Floyds Knobs, Indiana. Alex was a generous and kind person who loved his family, particularly his son, Benson. Alex was tragically taken from us much too soon. He has now found peace, something so difficult to achieve while fighting this battle. He tried so hard to overcome his addiction but ultimately lost. Alex is greatly and forever missed, by sharing his story we hope to offer peace and help to other families struggling with the effects of addiction. Alex is a 2005 graduate of Floyd Central High School in Floyds Knobs, Indiana. He attended Indiana University Southeast. Alex was an adventurous spirit, he loved nature, animals, skateboarding, and all water related activities. Alex was a proud father, a role that fit him well suiting his tender nurturing side. Understanding how much Alex wanted to be a good father to Benson, while battling to stay sober, gives a glimpse into the power of addiction. In addition to his parents, Alex is survived by his son, Benson; his sister, Lindsey and husband, Shawn Bramlett; nephews, Colton and Bear Bramlett of Sellersburg, Indiana; grandmothers, Barbara Smith and Doris Corrie of Keyser, West Virginia; aunt and uncle, Sharon and Gary Schade and cousin, Michael Thompson of Cumberland, Maryland; aunt, Jan Corrie of San Jose, California and cousins, Jessica Murison and Ashley Box; a uncle, Jim Corrie of Laurel, Maryland; an uncle and aunt, Craig Smith and Timberly Wuester and cousin, Jocelyn Smith of Baltimore, Maryland.
