Obituary of Anthony D. Wieger
Anthony D. Wieger, 35, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana passed away October 31, 2020 at home. He was born on August 2, 1985 in New Albany, Indiana to Dorothy Owen and the late David Wieger. Anthony served in the United States Army as an Artillery Specialist and had three deployments overseas in Afghanistan where he fought to protect our country. During his time enlisted, he made a great impact on those he served with and received numerous awards for his strength and dedication. Anthony’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends and watching his daughters grow and cheering on the University of Louisville Cardinals. He is now met with love on the other side with his father, David Wieger and sister, Ashley Andres. Anthony is survived by his wife, Amber Zurschmiede Wieger; two daughters, Hailey and Harper; three fur babies, Chloe, Frankie and Piper; his mother, Dorothy Owen; his step-father, Doug Owen; a sister, Amy Landenwich; a step-sister, Samantha (Christopher) Walker; a step-brother, Jeremy Owen; in-laws, Brian and Joyce Zurschmiede; an uncle; Donnie Wieger; paternal grandparents, Donald and Phyllis Wieger; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be private at New Albany National Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy are suggested to the American Cancer Society. The family would like to extend a special thank you to those who cared for Anthony at Amedisys Hospice.
