Bernice Anamay Teresa Cecilia (Steier) Kasey (85) went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 5, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Macy) Steier, Bernice was born December 9, 1927 in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a former employee of Baptist Hospital East, but caring for and loving her family was her primary mission in life. She was a member of Graceland Baptist Church in New Albany. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Fred L. Kasey, Jr.; and siblings, Carmel Milligan and Joseph and George Steier.
Survivors include her children, Cathy A. Lanning (Steve), Susan L. Combs (Clark), Fred L. Kasey, III (Linda), Judith D. Lusk (Reid), Kimberly D. Thurman, Diana L. Volz (Gary) and Keith D. Kasey (Tracy); sister, Joan Riley; brother-in-law, Cliff Milligan;
22 Grandchildren; 37 Great Grandchildren and 3 on the way; and 1 Great Great Grandchild
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Sunday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, IN and after 10:00 am Monday at Graceland Baptist Church. Her Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Monday at the church with burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
