Carolyn Joyce Evans, age 80 passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. Carolyn was born in New Albany, Indiana, on January 4, 1945 to the late Joseph G. Kime and Minnie (Johnson) Kime Atkins. Carolyn attended Indiana University Southeast earning her Masters Degree in social services, and spending her career as a mental health counselor. She retired from Workforce One in Southern Indiana.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, John "JD" Evans; her daughter, Kimberly "Kim" Atwood; her siblings, Joe, Marilyn, Jack, Bill, and David.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Robert (Cheryl) Leffler, Tina (Don) Fields, Kevin (Tammy) Evans, and Scott (Sherry) Evans; her step-children, Deanna "Dee", Cindy, Jennifer, and Melody; as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and sister, Doris Thomas.
A Visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Carolyn's Funeral will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday at 11:00 AM. A private burial will be held at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
