Cathy L. Bird

Catherine L. “Cathy” Bird, 78 years of age died Friday, May 1, 2015 at Robert E. Lee Nursing and Rehab in New Albany, Indiana. Cathy was born April 4, 1937 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society. Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Pearl Bird.

Survivors include her brothers, Steve Bird of Nevada, Paul Bird of Minnesota, Don Hammer of South Dakota, Allen Hembree of South Dakota, Gary Hembree of South Dakota, Thomas Bird of Indiana; sisters, Francis Richardson of North Carolina, Anna Houle of Florida, Kayleen Hembree of South Dakota, Elain Hembree of South Dakota, Leann Hembree of South Dakota; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4:00 pm ~ 6:00 pm Tuesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Service will be 6:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home chapel with burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The family requests contributions in her memory to go to the American Heart Association.
