Gary Clyn Longest

Gary Clyn Longest, 82 years of age passed away on December 26, 2025. He was born February 13, 1943 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Clyn and Elnora Longest. Gary touched so many peoples lives in so many ways. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Gary was the owner and operator of Gary Longest Construction for over 40 years. He was co-founder of the Grantline girls softball league, a member of the Southern Indiana Home builders Association, Kiwanis Club, the former New Albany Country Club, Covered Bridge Golf Club, Central Christian Church and Northside Christian Church. Along with his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his sisters, Marylin Combs, Sue Blunk and Kay Hartman.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Carol Caesar Longest; daughter, Carrie Magers (David); granddaughter, Sydney Raisor (Mark) with children Sadie & Lily, grandson Garrett Magers; son Greg Longest (Christie); grandson, Chase Longest (Courtney), and great grandson Grey Longest; granddaughter, Kier Longest (Andrew).

Visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, located at 708 East Spring Street, New Albany, IN 47150, on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The funeral service will take place at the same location on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 11:00 am.
