She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Helen was a devoted wife, loving mother and sister, and proud grandma. She retired from the Census Bureau.
In addition to her parents Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Henderson; Siblings, Mary Ann Hasselback, John R. DeVore Sr., James E. DeVore; and granddaughter Katie Trinkle Roll.
She is survived by her Siblings, Joseph DeVore Jr. (Sherry), Jeanie McKinley; Sisters-in-law, Diane Neanover (Bobby) & Ann DeVore; three Children; Gary Henderson (Melanie), Jan Hamilton (Jimmy), and Jill Trinkle (John); Grandchildren; Chris Pendleton, Kyle Hamilton (Katelyn), Carey Henderson (West), Megan Henderson (Chris), Kasey Hammel (Ryan), Tori Harper (Paul), and Courtney Kriz (Chase); Great grandchildren; Hazel Stutsman, Carson Kriz, Wade Hammel, Piper Hammel, Rosie Harper, Hadley Davis, Riley Davis, & expecting Sutton Hamilton in the summer; and her beloved dog, Stephanie.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Floyd County Humane Society of Indiana or the AIDS Healthcare Foundation.
Visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, Indiana 47150, on March 5, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1752 Scheller Lane, New Albany, Indiana, on March 6, 2026, at 11:00 am.
