James Ray Youtsey died on December 31, 2025. He was born in Fort Wayne, IN, on January 9, 1954. He attended Johnny Appleseed School, which became Easter Seals ARC, then worked in the workshop until he moved to Charlestown, IN, in 2022. He resided in an assisted-living community operated by Rauch, Inc., until late 2025 when he moved to Green Valley Care Center in New Albany, IN.
He is survived by his sisters Linda Y. Klein (Erv) and Sandra K. Bailey, and his nephew Jesse A. Baughman-Marc (Jonathan). He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Alice Youtsey and his brother-in-law James Bailey.
Jimmy’s family appreciates the wonderful home provided by his former foster family, Ann and Ron Vaughn and their children. They also appreciate Diana Swayze, who provided weekly community outings and helped him cope with change. Charles, Brian, Carrie, and Chelsea from Rauch all brought joy to his life; and his housemates Larry and Michael provided friendship. The family appreciates the staff at Rauch and Green Valley for their care of Jimmy.
A memorial service will be held at noon on January 14, 2026, at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, IN. Visitation will be an hour before the service. Burial will be later at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio. Memorials may be made to any animal shelter.
