Ann and I were so sorry to hear of John’s passing.
I have wonderful memories of John during those early years of doing work with Servend and many more over  the years.

The first thing I would say about John Wilson is that his true love for others was evident in the way he lived his life on a daily basis, not occasionally or when it was convenient. I have had no better friend throughout my entire life than John. I was blessed to work with him as a colleague, co-own a business with him, be involved with him socially, but none of those meant near as much as being his friend. John was far more generous with all his time, talents, and resources than people realized, as I never saw him seek recognition for anything that he did. He was a truly wonderful human being. We will miss his guidance, his humor, his sarcastic wit, his business acumen, and most of all, his true and always sincere compassion for others. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, of which he was so proud.

Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. John was an exceptional mark on my career.  His mentoring, leadership and unwavering support made a significant difference in my professional journey.  I am forever grateful for his guidance.

Krista and Family,  John was a gift from God and we know  you will miss him very much.  On your difficult days rest assured that John will become one of your Guardian Angels and help provide you comfort and guidance from above.  We’ll say a prayer that God welcomed John with open arms.

Dick and I are so saddened to hear of John's passing.  We both have so many memories of working with John at SerVend.  I was 24 when I was hired there and I worked with John for about 8 years.  And, then later in life our work paths crossed again several times.  He was the best mentor a young person could have.  I have always called him my "work" dad.   He always had great advice and checked in regularly to find out how you were doing.  And, he called me "Einstein", which embarrassed me at times, but it always gave me confidence that he believed in my abilities.  I remember one day he pulled a group of the younger employees into a conference room and told us all about 401K and that we should start investing in our future early.  We believed him, and Dick and I followed his advice.  That great advice has always given us peace of mind about our retirement.

Another memory...  When Dick initially put in his application at SerVend, before he could get back to his car, John came running out of the building with his application in hand, flagging him down because he saw that Dick was a Rose Hulman student.  He was impressed by that and gave him a job on the spot.  Of course, John didn't know it then, but his decision that day actually affected our entire future, because Dick and I would have never met, got married and been married now for over 30 years,  if John had not made that decision that day.  We've talked about that many times.

Dick was in Costa Rica for work when he heard the news of John's passing.  He called me to tell me while he was choking back tears.  I know there are many other SerVend employees that have great stories to tell about working with John Wilson.  He's touched so many lives in wonderful ways that maybe even his family doesn't know about.  He will be greatly missed by all his work friends from our SerVend days.

What a great guy! When we were children, we spent so much time together, and John was the kindest of us all! Rosie and I were elated to see him when Katie was moved to Jeffersonville, and those childhood memories flooded back. He was still that kind, happy, sweet cousin we all loved. We’re so sorry to all of you for your loss. He will be sorely missed, but the memories are forever.

I will  always remember John as being a  happy, friendly and kind person. Condolences to the family!  May he RIP!

Krista and family: So sorry for your loss. I am a distant cousin of his. My mom, Paula Schroeder, and John’s grandmother, Hilda Eckelman, were sisters. I hadn’t seen John in several years but did see him at his mother’s funeral. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Too many fun and wonderful memories to tell. JK  was an amazing and entertaining friend from jr high on. Truely a one of a kind character and seldom a dull moment! He made every day better. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
