Josephine Williams, 92, of New Albany, Indiana passed away at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on September 18, 1927 in Campbellsville, Kentucky to the late Ed Sr. and Sally Ford Kirtley. Josephine was a retired seamstress with the H.A. Seinsheimer Company. She professed her life to God at a young age at the Pleasant Union Baptist Church in Campbellsville, Kentucky. She attended Howard Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in New Albany. JoJo loved to cook for her family, tend to her beautiful garden and sew.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence W. Williams; a son, Gary W. Williams; siblings, Katherine Gaddie, Maxine Christian, Eugenia Thurman, Leo Kirtley, Melvin Kirtley, Ed Kirtley Jr., Curtis Kirtley and Jerry Kirtley.
Keeping her memory alive are her children, Dale R. Williams and Janet K. McCadden and her husband, Kenneth; a daughter-in-law, Linda R. Williams; grandchildren, April J. Williams of Nashville, Tenneessee, Brittany K. (Damein) Green of Meridianville, Alabama, Katherine J. McCadden of New Albany, Indiana; Carl D. (Kelly) Williams of Hardinsburg, Kentucky and Nicholas D. Williams Sr. of Louisville, Kentucky; great-grandson, Nicholas D. Williams, Jr.; a sister, Louie B. Ferrell of Sun City West, Arizona; sister-in-laws, Alvera Kirtley of Maywood, Illinois, Mary N. Williams of Campbellsville, Kentucky and Ollie Mae Williams of Louisville, Kentucky; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. till Noon on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road with her celebration of life service beginning at Noon. For those not able to attend services, funeral services will be live streamed on the Kraft Funeral Service Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/KraftFuneral. Burial will follow in Westhaven Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy are suggested to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
Pallbearers will be William Powell, Steven Crawford, Ted Burch, William Gilliespe, Carl Williams and Nicholas Williams.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her nephews, Roy R. Thurman, Bob Groves, Craig Kirtley and Daryl Kirtley.
