Judy Bocard Cochran

Judy Bocard Cochran, 85 years of age passed away on August 19, 2020. She was born June 29, 1935 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Fred J. and Imogene Bocard. She was the first female matron for the Floyd County Sheriff Department, an administrator with the Naval Ordinance Plant, and was a legal secretary for Naville, Crumbo & Leist Law Firm. Judy also worked in the New Albany City Clerk’s office for many years, an administrator at IUS and was retired from the Floyd County Health Department. She was a member of the Floyd County Democratic Party and Women’s Club. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William C. “Bill” Cochran; and a sister, Phyllis Calkins. Survivors include children, Sherry Lee Cochran, Rex Charles Cochran and Richard Paul Cochran (Mary Beth); a brother, Gary Bocard (Sandy); grandchildren, Meagan Elizabeth Donald (Scott), Molly Ann McDonald (J.J.), Maria Nicole Harritt (Hunter), Melinda Kathleen Cochran, Braidy Charles Cochran, Cory James Cochran (Alyssa), Andrea Lynn Stuthers; six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm Sunday, August 23, 2020 at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Monday, August 24, 2020 at the funeral home chapel with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
