

Margaret “Cissie” Zoeller Drake Veath was just 14 days from her 95 birthday when she died on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Westminster Village in Clarksville, Indiana. She was born January 30, 1923 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Carl and Emma (Grebner) Zoeller. Cissie was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and later of Holy Family Catholic Church in New Albany. She was active in the Kentuckiana Square Dance Association, Indiana Round Dance Council, and Indiana and Kentuckiana Round Dance Councils. She and her husband, Bud Drake, were prominent Round Dance instructors and loved sharing their knowledge and skill with dancers throughout the area and the country. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ira “Bud” Drake.
She is survived by her husband, Byron Veath, who brought countless joy and happiness to Cissie throughout their marriage. Byron, and Cissie’s daughter Janat, provided loving care throughout the challenges of her declining health and final illness. Additional survivors include children, Laura Cayce (Jerry), Barbara VanKeuren (Herb), Janat VanMeter (Rex), John Drake (Julie), Emma Henderson (Greg); 9 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren
Visitation will be held at 10:00 on Saturday, April 14, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 129 W. Daisy Lane, New Albany, Indiana followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Her ashes will be laid to rest at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
