Martha Corrine Jantzen, born on February 16, 1933, in Crab Orchard, Kentucky, passed away on December 3, 2025, at the age of 92. She loved visiting with family and enjoyed company of any kind at any time so she could give them the classic garden tour, fix a big pot of her famous bean soup or just sit back and watch her cowboy shows. Martha found joy in playing euchre with friends. She loved traveling, fishing, cooking, sewing, and horses. She was a very generous person and would give anything to help others without ever expecting anything in return. She often talked about the love of her life, David Jantzen. They spent many days filled with laughter with all his jokes he loved to tell. Many times, she would tell him to be quiet. Well maybe not those exact words. Martha led a life without regrets, rich in love for her family and friends. Martha never had to try to be your friend, she was authentic, one of a kind. She loved everyone unconditionally. Her spirit will forever be remembered as a beacon of strength and unselfishness. Her life wasn’t easy. She was fine with whatever came her way. Nothing ever got her down. Often times you would hear people say, I wish I was more like her. In a crowed Rodeo arena, she was picked out of the audience as the #1 fan of the night. She loved everything about the Rodeo; the children, the horses and especially the Cowboys! Her biggest pride was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. There will be a huge void in our hearts but her spirit will continue to shine in the lives of her family and friends.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents, James A. Proffitt and Tressie VanWinkle; her husband, David Jantzen; three children, David Wayne Hublard, James C. Frederick and Faith Frederick; two siblings, James Proffitt and Mary Taylor.
She is survived by children, George E. Hublard (Faye), Vanessa R. Hublard Smiley, Valerie R. Hublard and Mark A. Jantzen (Jennifer); eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two sister, Irene Gaddis and Patricia Coleman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
