Mary Jane (Bezy) Ott, 94 years of age, died Monday December 2, 2019, with her family at her side. She was born July 10, 1925 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Bernard A. and Marguerite E. (Venne) Bezy and was the widow of the late Vincent Ott who died in 2006. She was a former member of St Mary’s Lanesville Catholic Church and a current member of St. Mary’s of the Annunciation Catholic Church in New Albany. Mary Jane retired in 1996 after 37 years at the Floyd County Auditor’s office. She was also a member of the Democrat Women, St. Anthony’s Secular Franciscans Fraternity and the Ladies Guild of Mount St. Francis.
Survivors include: Daughter Clara Ott Hopper (Sam); eight grandchildren, Laura Sinkhorn (Rev. Dan), Christopher Hopper (Sherilee), Cathy Foreman (Derrick), Vincent Hopper (Heather), Mary Harmon (Jeffery), Jessica Korte (Jason), Felicia Fletcher (Ryan) and Philip Hopper (Elizabeth); 23 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; one great-great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Sunday, December 8, 2019 with a prayer service at 4:00 pm and after 9:00 am on Monday, December 9, 2019 at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 East Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, December 9, 2019 at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church in New Albany with burial to follow at St. Mary’s New Albany Catholic Cemetery.
