Mary Katherine Farrell Plummer

MARY KATHERINE (FARRELL) PLUMMER, 80, passed away July 24, 2016. The daughter of the late Leonard C. and Margaret Prather Farrell, Mary was born May 11, 1936 in Scottsburg, Indiana. She retired from Stewart Sandwich Company in 1989, was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, and enjoyed attending the grief support group at Graceland Baptist Church. Mary was an avid flower gardener, was very crafty – from sewing, knitting, crocheting to ceramics – and she loved to share these talents with others. She was “mom” and “resident room mother” to many many children. Her love for others and her quick wit will be missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Plummer, Jr.; and brothers, Carl, Donald, and Stanley Farrell.

Survivors include her children, Gary N. Plummer, Teresa K. Shireman (Dennis), and Gregory L. Plummer (Jay); sisters, Helen Louise Timperman, Evelyn Bernice Ott, and Joyce Brock (Buddy); sisters-in-law, Dorothy Farrell, Joan Murphy, Sherry Stiller (Carl), Reba Plummer, and Kathy Fleming; grandchildren, Chris Shireman (Lauren), MegAnne Duke (Austin), Brian Plummer, and Taylor Plummer; and great grandchildren, Graeme Shireman, Madisyn Hieatt, and Bryson Plummer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 12:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Thursday and after 10:00 am Friday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, IN. Her Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Friday in the Kraft Spring Street Chapel with burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany.
