

Michael D. Cassady, a resident of Floyds Knobs, IN, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the age of 73. He was born in Louisville, KY, on June 17, 1952, but lived mostly in Floyds Knobs, IN.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Debbie Cassady (Wiseman); his loving sons, Brian "B.J." Cassady (Katie) and Derek Cassady (Whitney); four adorable and beautiful grandchildren, Maggie, Oliver, Evelyn, and Eleanor Cassady. He is also survived by his brothers, Perry Cassady (Bessie) and Dwayne Cassady (Sonia), brother-in-law, Denny Wiseman (Julia), and nieces and nephews. Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Sina Cassady.
Mike was a 1970 graduate of Floyd Central High School. In high school, Mike enjoyed playing football and baseball.
Mike spent his career in the grocery industry. He was a manager at Gateway Grocery Store (New Albany), a sales rep with Pickrell & Craig Company, store manager at Greyhound Grocery Store (Clarksville), and as a sales rep with the former All American Bottling Company.
He was a devoted fan of all UofL sports. Mike and Debbie had UofL football season tickets with family and friends for over 30 years. A large, sometimes rowdy, group often tailgated before and after home games. He also had tickets to UofL women's basketball games and enjoyed taking his grandchildren to them and then spoiling them with nachos and popcorn. Mike enjoyed NASCAR racing, especially Dale Earnhardt Sr., and attended races in Talladega, Indianapolis, and Charlotte. He was a dedicated fan of the Cincinnati Reds. However, playing golf was his favorite past time. He enjoyed planning and taking golf trips with family and friends.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana, on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at Kraft Funeral Service on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
Michael's ashes will be privately laid to rest at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany, Indiana.
